That’s why the world’s top saffron suppliers trust Roco Saffron—not just for bulbs, but for reliability, purity, and a harvest that delivers. Because exceptional saffron starts with exceptional bulbs.

The importance of bulb size
For professional saffron cultivation, starting with healthy, large Crocus Sativus bulbs is essential. At Roco Saffron, we prioritize crop retainment, reserving our largest bulbs to sustain high-quality saffron production.
Bulb size varies yearly due to climate and growing conditions. Measured by circumference, we supply bulbs ranging from 8/9 cm to 9/10 cm to 10/+ cm, with 11/+ cm (Jumbo) being the largest available on the market.
Flowering yields
To boost first-year saffron yields, we’ve developed a climate-controlled temperature treatment that enhances flowering production. This method has consistently improved results, earning positive feedback from growers worldwide.
Moreover, bulb size directly impacts yield—the larger the bulb, the more flowers it produces, ensuring a stronger harvest from the start.

Reproduction of saffron bulbs
For a higher saffron yield, proper bulb reproduction is key. Since Crocus sativus is sterile and doesn’t grow from seeds, it reproduces through corms. The more small bulbs a mother bulb produces, the greater the next harvest.
Bulb quality varies by source—older, overused bulbs lose reproductive potential. That’s why Roco Saffron supplies only fresh, annually rotated bulbs, ensuring strong flowering and optimal reproduction. In peak conditions, a single mother bulb can produce up to 24 flowers!
Planting saffron bulbs is a long term investment
Saffron farming requires patience, experience, and a commitment to long-term growth. Many of our customers start small, but with our support, they expand their bulb production significantly over the years. Success begins with high-quality Crocus sativus bulbs, making the right starting source essential for a thriving saffron future.
